Kim joined the DCN team as a part-time clinical instructor in April of 2017.
She is a "second-career" nurse after starting as a Health Educator. She has taught junior high, high school and at the
collegiate level in CO, CA and PA. Her experience has been in Progressive Care with specialization in transplants including kidney,
pancreas and heart. She specialized in the artificial hearts (Left Ventricular Assist Device - LVAD). She has also worked in a broad-
based Med/Surg/Telemetry unit and with ortho, neuro, medical, surgical, oncology, and cardiac patients. Kim spent 2 years working in
an APRN role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Quality Improvement, Patient Safety). As a leader, Kim improved fall rates, immunization
compliance, quality control, medical errors, core measure data and much more. Kim was awarded “Rookie of the Year” at DCN in 2017.
