Brief Biography:
Janie Hanson-Ernstrom joined the DCN Team in January of 2018 as part
of the OB Simulation team. Her passion for midwifery started in her undergraduate BSN program and led her to work in high risk
antepartum, gynecology, postpartum & newborn nursery and finally to labor and delivery. She has worked in university hospitals across
the country including NYC, the Bay Area in California, Boston & Denver. She graduated with her MS and Nurse-Midwifery from the University
of Colorado medical campus and has worked in obstetrical and gynecology research at CU, at Planned Parenthood, an OB/GYN clinic, and
Nurse Family Partnership. She took time off after adopting her infant son from Guatemala to raise him, and his two older sisters and
to learn Spanish. She returned to work part time as a nurse consultant to preschools & child care programs and taught at Red Rocks
Community College. Her motto is “Listen to Women” and she loves working with DCN nursing students! |
